Back to Basics

Awakening is exhausting. Awareness carries great responsibility. Knowing extreme change is direly needed in this world but feeling like the beast is too big to tackle can be overwhelming. I've allowed the feeling to keep me down for too long. Now is the time to stand up and call for action.  We need a major reform of our food supply. Corporations are tainting every possible consumeable and thus polluting our very DNA with GMOs, toxic additives, artificial colors and flavors... even the ubiquitous and mysterious "natural flavors" must be eradicated from our food products. America's collective health is at stake. Food should be our first medicine; preventative medicine at that. Instead it's been corrupted so thoroughly that it has become the root of countless ills our citizens suffer from. Turning to the pharmaceuticals heavily pushed at the halftime shows and sponsored social media posts, their health continues to decline as they grapple with endless side effects, complications and liver damage. When does it end? Can we finally say we've had enough?

The problem goes beyond food products. We are attacked by a plague of toxic fragrances in thousands of products daily. The manufacturers keep inventing new ones because the masses keep consuming them. Trash bags scented with Fabuloso? Horrible. If your trash stinks, trying to cover it up with perfume is not going to create a more appealing aroma. Take out the trash. Or try composting the vegetable refuse which is what is producing the odor you're trying to disguise with carcinogenic fumes.

We need two-part action: education of the consumers, and accountability and regulation of the corporations pushing the toxic products on an unsuspecting public. So many of these product ingredients should simply be outlawed. Many people are too busy living their lives to stop and research the products made by companies they've grown up relying on.  We must stop being so naive and trusting of these entities that do not have the public's best interest at heart.
